Long Island Man Seriously Injured After Getting Hit By SUV A Long Island man has been seriously injured after being struck by an SUV, according to police. Detectives with the Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad say the driver of a 2012 Nissan Rogue was heading northbound on Coates Avenue when the vehicle struck a pedestrian in the road in front of 1135 Coates Avenue in Holbrook on Monday, Nov. 4 around 6:15 p.m. The pedestrian, identified as Joseph Zuniga, 31, of Oyster Bay, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via Holbrook Ambulance for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
