Here's Where NY Ranks Among Best States In US, And Why
A brand-new report ranks all 50 states from top to bottom based on a variety of factors.
U.S. News & World Report released its annual best states rankings on Tuesday, May 2, and New York came in at -- drumroll, please -- No. 20.
Rankings were based on statistics in several categories, including economy, crime, health care, infrastructure, and education.
A total of 48.8 percent of New Yorkers are college educated, the report said.
New York has a median income of $43,462 and a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of just over $2 billion.
Utah is the top-ranked state in the rankings. …

Covid-19: Here's Latest On Number Of Long Island Cases, Fatalities
More than 1,000 people on Long Island have now died during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
In Nassau County, another 90 residents have died from the virus, bringing the total number to 723, while Suffolk reported 52 new deaths, up to 414 since the outbreak began.
There have now been a total of 1,137 COVID-19 deaths on Long Island.
As of Friday, April 10, officials said that there have been 21,512 (1,372 new) cases in Nassau County and 18,692 in Suffolk.

Here's How Many More Deer NY Hunters Killed Last Year Compared To 2017
New York hunters enjoyed a fruitful and busy deer hunting season, taking down 12 percent more deer statewide compared to the previous year.
During the 2018-2019 deer hunting season, an estimated 227,787 white-tailed deer were killed, according to new numbers released by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
