It happened Monday, Feb. 10 at approximately 6:15 a.m. in Bay Shore, Suffolk County Police said. Pedestrian Suffers Severe Head Trauma After Being Struck By Car In Nassau A pedestrian was critically injured after being hit by a car on Long Island. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9 in Merrick, Nassau County Police said. According to police, a 2012 Mazda operated by a 43-year-old woman struck a 66-year-old male pedestrian in the vicinity of 2129 Merrick Road as he stepped into the right westbound traffic lane.  The male victim suffered severe head trauma and was transported in a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local nearby hospital for treatment. The victim is listed in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
