Motorist Who Failed To Stay In Lane On LIE Charged With DWI, Sheriff Says A 64-year-old driver swerving on the Long Island Expressway was allegedly drunk and refused a breathalyzer test after being stopped for vehicle and traffic violations, authorities announced. A Suffolk County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped Ridge resident Bryan Mahoney at approximately 3:09 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, when he was was unable to maintain his lane while traveling through Islip. According to the Sheriff’s Office, during the subsequent traffic stop, Mahoney displayed clues of being intoxicated, and he proceeded to fail multiple standardized field sobriety tests.
