Kathy Hochul announced that a new set of affordable and energy-efficient housing has been completed at what once was a dilapidated complex. Laurel Homes, located in the North Hempstead hamlet of Roslyn Heights, has officially finished its “major redevelopment,” Hochul said on Monday, Dec. 11. As part of the renovation, the original development was expanded upon and revitalized starting in 2019, according to the North Hempstead Housing Authority. Two East End Affordable Housing Developments Getting $1.8M From Suffolk County Suffolk County will provide $1.8 million for two affordable housing projects on East End. One of these, Gansett Meadow will be located in Amagansett, and the second project, Vineyard View, will be located in Greenport, said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone in the announcement.  The Gansett Meadow development will be less than half a mile away for the Long Island Rail Road station.  The project will include 37 units, 36 of which will be affordable to residents.
