Woman Driving Drunk With 2 Young Teens In BMW Crashes At Long Island Intersection: Police

A woman has been accused of driving drunk with two young teenage girls in the car after a crash at a Long Island intersection.

The crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22 in East Setauket.

The was driving a 2018 BMW X5 northbound on Old Town Road, with her daughter and her daughter’s friend in the vehicle, when she attempted to turn left onto Sheep Pasture Road and crashed into a southbound 2004 Lexus RX330, Suffolk County Police said

When Suffolk County PD Sixth Precinct officers arrived at the scene, they determined the driver, Alison Drain, age 52, of East Setauket, was intoxicated and arrested her, according to police. 

The two 14-year-old girls were treated for minor injuries at Huntington Hospital. 

A passenger in the Lexus was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Drain was charged with:

  • Aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15 years old or younger (Leandra’s Law), 
  • Felony driving while intoxicated,
  • Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. 

She was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday, Jan. 23.

The BMW was impounded for evidence.
