Alert Issued For Missing Elmont Man

A 67-year-old vulnerable man has gone missing.

Nassau County Police Missing Persons Squad is investigating the whereabouts of the man they say has been missing since Friday, Sept. 20 at 5 a.m. in Elmont. The disappearance was reported to police the same day at 11:31 p.m.

According to detectives, Victor Achuba, 67, suffers from a cognitive disorder and is in need of medication.

He was last seen leaving his Elmont residence, said police. Achuba is described as being 5-foot-7, 180 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

His clothing description and possible destination are unknown, according to police.

Nassau County Police ask anyone with information regarding Achuba's whereabouts to call Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or 911.
