Twenty people were displaced on Long Island, as several Suffolk County fire departments teamed to battle a blaze at an apartment complex early on Monday, Dec. 9, fire officials said.

Fire crews responded to the Fairfield Sunrise Gardens complex on Greenbriar Drive in Bohemia shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Monday, where a fire damaged a total of 12 apartments, leaving 20 without a roof over their heads, according to the Red Cross.

Firefighters from Bohemia, Bayport, Blue Point, East Islip, Holbrook, Islip Terrace, Lakeland, Sayville, and West Sayville took approximately an hour to knock down the flames at the apartment complex. No injuries were reported.
