Longtime Chaplain To Hillcrest Fire Department Dies Richard Mordechai Silverbeg of Spring Valley a member of the Hillcrest Fire Company for 58 years and chaplain to the department, died on Sunday, July 13. He was 82. Silverberg was born in Nyack in October 1933. State Police Still Sorting Out Details Of Fatal I-84 Crash State police have not yet released more detailed information or the names of the person killed or the multiple people injured in the crash that led to the hours-long closure of a stretch of I-84 in Orange County on Wednesday. Two tractor trailers and four other vehicles were involved in the crash that resulted in the closure between Exit 5A (Drury Lane/Route 54) and Route 208 (Exit 5) in Orange County from around 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. It is in the same area as a serious crash on Monday involving a tractor-trailer. A stretch of westbound I-84 was closed for approximately five hours Wednesday after a fatal, multi-vehicle crash in Montgomery. Spring Valley Man Charged In Hillcrest Shooting HILLCREST, N.Y. - A 22-year-old Spring Valley man was arrested on several charges including attempted murder and assault after a shooting in Hillcrest early Sunday morning, police said. Junathan McNeil was arrested and charged with attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, and criminal mischief in the second degree, all of which are felonies, on Tuesday. Little League Softball State Final Four Will Be Coming To Area Some of the best Little League softball teams from around the state will go toe-to-toe next week in the Hudson Valley. Haverstraw Little League will play host to the New York State Little League Senior Softball State Finals from Thursday, July 14 through Tuesday, July 19. WWII Memorabilia Stolen In Clarkstown Center Break-In NEW CITY, N.Y. - Several World War II memorabilia items that were donated to an exhibit were stolen from the Street Community Center in New City over the holiday weekend. According to Jo Ann Pederson, the town Superintendent of Parks and Recreation, the items confirmed stolen were two guns from World War II, a Japanese sword, and a gas mask.
