The identity has been released of a person who was killed after being struck by a train at a station in New York. Scam Alert: Suspect Claiming To Be Sergeant Over Phone In Westchester, Police Say
A police department in Westchester is warning residents of a phone scam involving a caller who falsely claims to be a sergeant. The phone scam was announced by the New Rochelle Police Department on Monday, Dec. 4, and reportedly consists of a caller claiming to be Sergeant William Walsh of the department's Warrant Squad. The scammer has been calling from the phone number 914-618-4703, police said. Anyone who receives such a call from this number is advised to hang up the phone.

A late-night brush fire prompted a quick response from firefighters near a residential street in Northern Westchester. The blaze began on Thursday, Nov. 30 just before midnight in Croton-on-Hudson at the corner of Warren Road and Briggs Lane, which is close to Route 9, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. One person was taken to a hospital following a crash that left a car flipped over on its roof in Northern Westchester. Man Jumps From Bear Mountain Bridge
The body of a man who jumped from the Bear Mountain Bridge has not been recovered. The incident occurred around 6:40 a.m., Friday, Nov. 24 closest to the Rockland County side. According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, the man left his vehicle and walked up the bridge and jumped. The body of an unidentified person who police say committed suicide was discovered by a hiker in a popular Hudson Valley nature preserve. The body was discovered in Orange County in Hamptonburgh in the Hamptonburgh Preserve around 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 at the eastern bank of the Wallkill River at the end of the Hamptonburgh Trail, said Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police.
