The Mill, located at 289 Route 100 in Somers, officially opened on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Its website said the restaurant aims to combine an upscale dining experience with a comfortable, inviting setting.

The menu features a mix of familiar comfort foods and dishes with a creative twist. Appetizers include Reuben empanadas, whipped ricotta with truffle and honey, roasted cauliflower croquettes, and tuna tartare.

For main courses, diners can choose from shepherd's pie, crispy gnocchi with Gorgonzola and truffle, grilled salmon, and New York strip steak. The restaurant also offers a smash burger topped with bacon jam, French dip sandwiches, pork belly banh mi, and several salads and bowls.

As for drinks, the eatery serves specialty cocktails such as an Autumn Mule, spiced Old Fashioned, and coconut margarita, along with martinis, wines, and draft beers.

The opening has already drawn attention from local officials. On Friday, Oct. 23, New York State Assemblyman Matt Slater welcomed the restaurant to Somers in a social media post.

"Exciting to welcome The Mill to the Somers community as they officially opened their doors this week!" Slater wrote, continuing, "Wishing them great success as they begin this new chapter."
