Girl Rescued From 13-Inch Drainpipe In Westchester, Police Say
A Westchester County girl was rescued from a 13-inch drainpipe after a passerby heard her shouting for help. The incident took place around 6:55 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 4, in Mamaroneck. A Village of Mamaroneck police officer conducting post-storm patrol was alerted by persons shouting for help at the corner of Old White Plains Road and Center Avenue. The officer found a 13-year-old female who had fallen into an open utility vault/drainpipe. Worker Dies After Being Trapped In Trench In Westchester
A Connecticut man from Fairfield County was killed in a construction accident in New York after being trapped 10 feet underground when a trench collapsed on top of him at a Westchester County worksite. The Stamford man was killed around 12:40 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, when the trench collapsed at a home on 648 Shore Acres Drive in the Village of Mamaroneck. One Dead, Two Critically Injured After Car Slams Into Utility Pole In Westchester
One person was killed and two others critically injured after a vehicle hit a utility pole in Westchester and the vehicle burst into flames. The incident took place around 2:37 a.m., Sunday, April 11, in front of 1395 West Boston Post Road in the town of Mamaroneck. The vehicle, a 2003 Honda Accord, struck a utility pole and a fire engulfed the vehicle, said Lt. James Maher of the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department.
