Concerned Citizen Helps Catch Duo Accused Of Robbing FedEx Driver In Westchester Two suspects were apprehended after stealing packages from a FedEx driver in Westchester and threatening a concerned citizen who tried to catch them, police said.  The incident began on Monday afternoon, Sept. 9, when a citizen in Port Chester saw two suspects steal from a FedEx driver making deliveries, according to the Port Chester Police Department. SUV Crashes Down Embankment In Mahopac A driver was hospitalized after their vehicle plunged down an embankment in the Hudson Valley.  The crash happened in Putnam County on Saturday, Sept. 7, when an SUV crashed into the woods at around 1:40 a.m. in the area of Nicholas Way in Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews found that the driver had managed to escape the vehicle on their own after the crash. 2 Top-Prize Winning Lottery Tickets Sold At These Westchester Stores Two storefronts in Westchester County cities sold top-prize-winning lottery tickets on the same day, officials announced.  The two winning Take 5 tickets, each worth $17,052.50, were sold at stores in Yonkers and New Rochelle for the drawing on Wednesday, Sept. 4.  The stores that sold the tickets were revealed to be R. C. Variety at 154 North Ave. in New Rochelle and O'Dell Stationery at 1034 North Broadway (Route 9) in Yonkers.  As for the names of the lucky winners, those were not made public.

2-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Hudson Valley An investigation is underway after a 2-year-old girl was struck and killed by a van in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, on Calvert Drive in the village of Kaser in Ramapo. According to Ramapo Police Lt. Michael Gannon, responding officers found the child was struck by a 2014 Honda Odyssey and had sustained life-threatening injuries.  The girl was transported to Nyack Hospital by Hatzolah Ambulance and later died from her injuries, Gannon said.
