Norwalk Man Charged With Stealing Power Tools NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was arrested on four warrants in connection with a series of car and residential burglaries in the city, police said. Wilmer Arias, 37, was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and conspiracy. He was held on $60,000 bond. The burglaries occurred in January and February, police said. Arias worked with two co-conspirators, Elvin Natalio Ramos-Telles and Alberto Silva-Garcia, who were arrested previously, according to police. City Hall Puts Spotlight On Artwork By Norwalk Students NORWALK, Conn. – The work by students from the Norwalk Housing Authority is hanging in a place of honor in the Mayor’s Gallery at City Hall after they learned about printmaking and the works of WPA artists. A group of students in the 20 West project spent time at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking and learned about the history of the WPA murals in the city. Darien Police: Car Stolen From Garage Of Hoyt Street Home On Snowy Morning DARIEN, Conn. -- A car was stolen out of the garage of a home on Hoyt Street last weekend, and the suspected thief left some tracks behind in the snow, according to Darien police. The 2010 Toyota Venza was reported stolen on the morning of Saturday, March 21. According to police, a 63-year-old woman and her 26 year-old son said the son woke up at 5 a.m. and went out to shovel snow. Three Charged With Stealing Copper, Doorknobs From Darien Home DARIEN, Conn. -- Three men were charged with breaking into a Darien home on Tulip Tree Lane and stealing pipes, doorknobs and hinges, according to police. Eric Whitehead, 23, of Darien; Michael Davis, 27, of Shelton; and Rickie Carter, 29, of Stamford, were each charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. Hockey Game To Benefit Retired Norwalk Police Lieutenant NORWALK, Conn. -- When Lt. Tim Murphy was diagnosed with stage-4 cancer a couple days after retiring from the Norwalk Police Department, his fellow officers and the community decided to step up and help him in his time of need. Suspect In Darien Cop Killing Arrested On Gun, Drug Charges DARIEN, Conn. -- A person of interest in the unsolved 1981 killing of a Darien police officer was arrested in West Haven on unrelated federal narcotics and firearms charges, police said. Anthony Sabato, 57, of West Haven has long been a person of interest in the shooting death of Officer Kenneth Bateman in Darien on May 31, 1981. Norwalk Police Undergo Training To Address Problems Of Implicit Bias NORWALK, Conn. – Officers from Norwalk and surrounding communities are undergoing training this week to address issues of implicit bias in policing.
