Child Sex Abuse: Troy Man Raped 13-Year-Old Girl, Police Say
A 74-year-old man from the region is facing charges for allegedly sexually abusing a minor, authorities said.
Rensselaer County resident Perry Ransford, of Troy, was arrested Monday, July 3, following a joint investigation by the Troy Police Department and other agencies that spanned several months.
According to investigators, Ransford raped a 13-year-old girl who visited his Troy apartment, located on 6th Avenue, in February 2023.
The two had no prior relationship with one another, police said.

Capital Region Man Sexually Abused Child For Years, Police Say
A 57-year-old man from the region is accused of sexually abusing a child over a period of years, authorities said.
Greene County resident David Rollins, of Coxsackie, was arrested Sunday, Dec. 25, following a joint investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and State Police.
The department was initially contacted Thursday, Dec. 22, with a report of an alleged sexual assault of a child, sheriff’s officials said.
A subsequent investigation determined that Rollins had sexually abused the child for several years, beginning when the child was under the age of 11, according to police.

A former employee at a New York nursing home accused of sexually assaulting a resident had multiple complaints against him, yet his boss actively worked to conceal his abuse, prosecutors allege.
The assault occurred at Long Island’s Fulton Commons Care Center, located in East Meadow, according to an indictment announced by Attorney General Letitia James on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

A 19-year-old man is behind bars months after allegedly kidnapping two young girls from their Capital Region home and sexually abusing one, New York State Police said.
The man, identified by WNYT as Yusef Illeez, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 8, following a joint investigation that included State Police, Schenectady County Child Protective Services, and the FBI.
