A woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal one-car rollover crash in the region. It happened around 6:40 p.m. Friday, April 19, in Greene County, in the village of Catskill, on I-87. A preliminary investigation at the scene determined that a 2004 Ford Escape was traveling northbound in the passing lane between Exit 20 (Saugerties) and Exit 21 (Catskill), when, for an unknown reason, it exited the roadway, went through the guide rail, struck an earth embankment, and overturned, New York State Police said. Fatal Crash: 38-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Single-Vehicle Capital Region Wreck
One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash in the region. The Greene County wreck happened at around 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, on State Route 23 in the town of Windham. New York State Police said 38-year-old Adam Kingsley, of Hunter, was driving a Toyota westbound on State Route 23 when he went off the roadway and struck a tree. Kingsley, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved and there were no other reports of injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

More than a quarter billion dollars in federal and state funding will go toward addressing New York’s housing crisis. A water park in the region will have to pay nearly $40,000 in fines for violating federal child labor laws with dozens of teenage employees. Greene County’s Zoom Flume Water Park, located in East Durham, was the target of investigation by the Albany district office of the US Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division in 2022. The agency found that the water park allowed 35 15-year-old lifeguards to work with prohibited equipment at the top of elevated, power-driven water slides between July 2021 and July 2022. A man was arrested on Long Island after he allegedly drove drunk, crashing into two parked police cars. It happened on Monday, Feb. 12 in Valley Stream, according to Nassau County Police. Just after 10 p.m. that day, 59-year-old Capital Region resident Richard Welch, who lives in the hamlet of Climax in Greene County, was driving his black pickup truck on South Central Avenue. Snowplowing Truck Hits, Kills Woman In Capital Region Parking Lot
A woman has died after being struck by a pickup truck outside an apartment complex in the region. The Greene County incident happened at around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, in Coxsackie at the Peppertree Apartments. According to sheriff’s officials, a 66-year-old New Baltimore man was using a pickup truck to plow snow in the building’s parking lot when he struck a woman while backing up. The 70-year-old Coxsackie woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities had not released her identity as of Thursday, Jan. 18. The incident is under investigation.

An elderly couple are lucky to be alive after finding themselves trapped in a burning RV on the side of the Thruway.
