Facebook Marketplace Sting Nabs Deadbeat Dad From Region, Police Say A man from the region was nabbed for allegedly not paying more than $8,700 in child support when he posted items for sale on Facebook Marketplace. Sullivan County resident Marcus Molnar, age 46, of Barryville, was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 24, for failure to pay child support. Undersheriff Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said Molnar is alleged to owe over $8700 in child support payments and has been hiding out in Wayne County, Pennsylvania since September of 2023.  Deputies noticed recently that Molnar had placed a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Porsc…

Schenectady County resident James Butler, age 30, of Glenville, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 23 on a felony charge of grand larceny. Glenville Police said Butler, who owns and operates “Trust a Fence,” accepted over $7,000 from a Glenville homeowner to purchase fencing material. However, the job was never finished. 30-Year-Old Man Killed In Fight With Friend At Albany Home, Police Say A homicide investigation is underway after a 30-year-old man suffered fatal injuries during a fight at a home in the region. Albany Police were called at around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, for an unconscious man inside a residence on Clinton Avenue near Henry Johnson Boulevard. The victim, identified as 30-year-old Jieshi Williams, was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital and later died from blunt force trauma injuries. Parents Charged In Region For Allegedly Not Paying Thousands In Child Support Sheriff's deputies in the region charged three people for allegedly failing to pay their child support. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the following individuals on Family Court warrants for child support violations: Melissa A. Lynch, age 36, of Swan Lake, was charged on Thursday, Feb. 15 for not paying $2,500 in child support.
