Prior to that she worked at a chain of weekly newspapers on Long Island's North Shore and as a freelance writer for Yankees Magazine. She has a Master's Degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. When not working, she enjoys reading, running and spending as much time as possible with her husband and two sons.

RYE, N.Y. – Students at Rye High School and Middle School returned to their schools at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday after they had been evacuated earlier in the morning when the district received a bomb threat. Mayor Confirms Enterovirus In Yonkers YONKERS, N.Y.  – A student at Cedar Place Elementary School has been diagnosed with enterovirus D68, according to several reports. Mayor Mike Spano confirmed the child contracted the illness, which has been linked to several deaths this year. The female student, who is being kept home, is recovering, according to reports.
