Yonkers, Saint Joseph's Medical Center Offer Free Flu Shots YONKERS, N.Y. –  Yonkers residents will be able to get free flu shots Monday, thanks to a partnership between the City of Yonkers and Saint Joseph’s Medical Center. Mayor Mike Spano said under the partnership, the Yonkers Police Medical Evacuation Transportation Unit (METU) bus will travel to designated locations throughout the City until Dec. 19. Yonkers Officials Give Residents Something To Be Thankful For YONKERS, N.Y. – Mayor Mike Spano, the Yonkers City Council and City employees delivered more than 200 turkeys and all the trimmings to Yonkers residents Wednesday at the Nepperhan Community Center. The meals were donated by several local companies, including Yonkers Contracting, ShopRite, Kawasaki Rail Car, Fidelis Care NY, and Valley Oil. "It's about Yonkers residents helping Yonkers residents," said Mayor Mike Spano. Hendrick Hudson High School Locked Down For Second Day In A Row CORTLANDT, N.Y. – Hendrick Hudson High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday for the second day in a row, the district announced on its Facebook page. Danbury Animal Welfare Seeking Truckload Of Supplies DANBURY, Conn. – It takes a lot of money and supplies to care for animals, and the Danbury Animal Welfare Society is asking for donations to help them in their task. DAWS is hosting a "Stuff-a-Truck" at its shelter. People are asked to donate whatever items they can from the group's “Wish List.” Wet and dry dog and cat food, kitten food, puppy food, kitty litter, toys, laundry detergent, paper towels and more is needed by DAWS.
