Motorcyclist Taken To Hospital After Fairfield Wipe Out FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A 24-year-old Bridgeport motorcyclist was taken to the hospital Saturday after he tried to round a curve on Congress Street and wiped out, police said. The man told police he was going about 40 miles per hour westbound to catch up with friends and struck a guardrail shortly before 11 a.m. He complained of knee, back and arm pain and was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center. He was also given an infraction for driving too fast for conditions.

Bridgeport Man Charged In Fairfield Burglary Had Been In Police Custody FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport man arrested on Friday in connection with a Fairfield burglary had been in police custody on another matter just a day before the burglary was reported, police said. On Monday, Sept. 4, a Mill Hill Terrace homeowner reported his daughter came home around 3:30 p.m. to find the home’s rear door open and its belongings had been rummaged through, police said. Police: Neighbor Charged In Fairfield Fence Fight FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield man who got in a heated verbal dispute with a neighbor over a fence between their homes on Sunday afternoon was charged with second-degree breach of peace, police said. Jason Shay, 36, of Alberta Street, who had been warned not to go on his neighbor’s property after an Oct. 13 incident, took some cement pieces left after the fence was erected and put them in a dumpster on the woman’s property, police said. Guests Arrested After Golf Cart Joyride On Campus FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Two New York men were arrested early Saturday for taking a joy ride around campus in a Fairfield University golf cart they were not authorized to drive, police said. Ludlowe Middle School XC Girls Race To Second Place Finish In State FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Roger Ludlowe Middle School Girls Cross Country team on Saturday placed second at the state championships, the highest finish in school history and the best finish ever for a Fairfield middle school. In a field of 47 teams with 380 athletes at the Manchester competition, the RLMS squad was bested by only Dodd Middle School of Cheshire.
