Teens To Keep Up Conservation Work At Beardsley Zoo Thanks To $10K Grant BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The Beardsley Zoo’s Conservation Discovery Corps will continue its programming for teens thanks to a $10,000 grant from People’s United Community Foundation. The grant from the charitable giving arm of People’s United Bank supports the zoo’s program. It is designed for high school students to work alongside field biologists and study the role of zoos in conservation and education. Police: Masked Man Breaks Into Fairfield CVS, Can't Get Past The Foyer FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A masked man tried to break into a Fairfield CVS early Sunday, but he couldn’t get past the foyer, police said. Surveillance video shows the black-clad would-be burglar breaking the front glass door at the CVS on Black Rock Turnpike near Jennings Road around 4:20 a.m., but it appeared he could not get any farther and left, police said. A K-9 unit brought to the scene was unable to track the person, police said.

Henry Martin, 19, of Marblehead, Mass., and Stephen Millerick, 19, of Waltham, Mass., were each charged with possession of a controlled substance or more than a half-ounce of marijuana and use and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
