Bryan Roessel Joins North Rockland Daily Voice As Community Advisor
NORTH ROCKLAND, N.Y. -- Bryan Roessel, a poet and science teacher in Tuxedo, NY, joins Daily Voice as a community advisor on its North Rockland site.
Community advisors provide Daily Voice with tips for local news and events.
He moved to the Hudson Valley in 2007. He's been organizing and hosting poetry open mics, slams, and workshops in Suffern, Nyack, and the surrounding areas since March 2011. His interests include hiking, good vegetarian food, craft beer, local music, and board games.
George Hoehmann Ousts Incumbent Clarkstown Supervisor Gromack
CLARKSTOWN – In a surprise upset, Republican Councilman George Hoehmann has unseated long-term Democratic incumbent Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack in a decisive win on Tuesday.
The vote was 10,186 to 8,086.
Hoehmann's vacant seat can be filled by appointment or special election.
Incumbent council member Frank Borelli (R) retained his seat with 10,001, and Republican John J. Noto Jr., with 9,411, upset longtime incumbent Democrat Shirley R. Lasker, who trailed with 7,983 votes. Daniel Caprara (D) drew 8,026 votes.

Jim Monaghan Wins Stony Point Supervisor Seat
STONY POINT – Republican Town Councilman Jim Monaghan beat Democratic challenger Luanne Konopko, for Town Supervisor on Tuesday.
The vote for the two-year term was 2,161 to 1,297. Stony Point Supervisor Geoffrey Finn did not seek a third term.
Council members Karl Javenes (R) and Jim White (R) took the two seats with 2,076 and 1,880 repsectively. Democrats Dominick A. Posillipo had 1,272, and Mike Ehlers had 1,343.
Republican William F. Franks, the incumbent town justice, won by a landslide with 2,417 to Democrat K. Jody Cucolo's 953 votes.
