George Hoehmann Ousts Incumbent Clarkstown Supervisor Gromack CLARKSTOWN – In a surprise upset, Republican Councilman George Hoehmann has unseated long-term Democratic incumbent Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack in a decisive win on Tuesday. Utility Truck Hits Water Main In Garnerville GARNERVILLE, N.Y -- A United Water truck working on Bridge Street in Garnerville hit a gas main early Tuesday afternoon, which shut down the street for an hour.  The water company was digging for an underground pipe when the accident occurred, said Town of Haverstraw Lt. Martin Lund. "There was no fire or flood, just the smell of gas coming from the open trench." Utility crews responded to the emergency and shut off the gas line after the incident was reported around 1:30 p.m. Nobody was hurt.
