Fire from a chimney extended into the walls on the first floor of the Saddle River Road home shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, March 26, Fire Chief Jake Mamo said. The third-grader apparently ran into 17th Street near Morlot Avenue when he was struck by a 2014 Honda CR-V shortly before 4 p.m., police Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
