Crews Work To Repair Blown Transformer Affecting Power To More Than 2,200 Phillipsburg Homes UPDATE: The power has been restored. --------------------------------- Crews are working to repair a blown transformer that was affecting power to more than 2,200 Phillipsburg homes Thursday afternoon, town officials said. JCP&L was at the site of the blown transformer at Warren Street and Heckman Street around 2:50 p.m., according to a post on the town’s official Facebook page. “They are working hard to restore it ASAP!” town officials said.

‘Very Proud Veteran:’ Army Cavalry Scout, Phillipsburg Father Of 4 John Hardcastle Dies, 40 Army cavalry scout and beloved Phillipsburg father of 4 John W. Hardcastle died at his home on August 1. He was 40.  Born in Mission Hills, CA, Hardcastle served as a cavalry scout with the US Army in Afghanistan, his obituary says. Hardcastle was also a member of the YMIA, the Bernadine-May American Legion Post, and St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, according to his memorial.
