The 66-year-old man was shopping at the Mansfield store on August 8 when he approached a couple while holding a pickaxe type tool and asked, “what side do you think I should use to smash her [expletive] skull in?” township police said in a Tuesday release.
The couple reached out to authorities, unsure of whether the man’s comment was directed at them, police said.
A follow-up investigation led to the man’s identification. Officers conducted a welfare check at his home and charged him with disturbing the peace on August 19, police said.
