A New Jersey Army National Guard recruiter was accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl, authorities said. Shawn Nguyen, 44, of Egg Harbor Township, was arrested on Monday, Mar. 11. The Township of Hamilton Police Department announced his arrest in a news release. An investigation into Nguyen began in June 2022 when Township of Hamilton officers responded to a report of a "female in distress" at the Wawa gas station on Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing. The case of a former New Jersey Army National Guardsman accused of snapping photos up women's skirts will be heading to trial after he rejected a plea deal in Sussex County, according to a recent news report. The official who helmed New Jersey's veterans homes, which reported a total 103 coronavirus deaths and 391 cases, resigned from his position, NorthJersey.com reports. Mark Piterski oversaw the Paramus and Menlo Park homes, which together have more COVID-19 deaths and cases than any other nursing homes in New Jersey. NJ National Guard Captain Is 1st Coronavirus Death In U.S. Military
A captain in the New Jersey Army National Guard has died of the coronavirus, the U.S. Department of Defense announced Monday night. U.S. Army Capt. Douglas Linn Hickok of Jackson died on Saturday, seven days after being hospitalized. Hickok is the first U.S. service member to die of the coronavirus, U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said.
