Shots Fired On Busy Street In Downtown Peekskill Police roped off a section of a busy downtown road in Northern Westchester for an investigation after residents heard several gunshots in the area.  The investigation was conducted early on Friday, July 5 just after midnight on Main Street in Peekskill, where gunshots were heard between North Division Street and Nelson Avenue, according to reports.  Residents in the area reported hearing at least three of the shots. Roller Coaster Derails At Waterfront Park In Dobbs Ferry On July 4th A young child was assessed for injuries after a ride derailed at a park in Westchester during Independence Day celebrations.  The incident happened on Thursday, July 4 just after 4 p.m., when the rollercoaster at Waterfront Park in Dobbs Ferry derailed, according to the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Ambulance Corp.  First responders soon arrived at the park and assessed a five-year-old patient. Luckily though, they were not injured.  The ride was then stabilized. No other injuries were reported.  The cause of the derailment was not released.

Part Of Busy Putnam Valley Road To Close For Day: Here's Where, When A portion of a busy main route in a Hudson Valley town will close for a day, officials announced.  A part of Peekskill Hollow Road (Route 21) in the Putnam County town of Putnam Valley near the bridge over Peekskill Hollow Creek will close on Monday, July 8, according to the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services.  During the closure, motorists can use Peekskill Hollow Turnpike as a detour, officials added. Message boards will be activated near the closure to alert drivers.
