Elmwood Park police arrest three out-of-towners, seize 100 bags of heroin

Elmwood Park police seized nearly 100 bags of heroin in a pair of traffic stops of out-of-towners less than two hours apart.

They first stopped Mark Depaola, 24, of River Vale on Locust Street at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday and charged him with carrying 47 bags, along with drug paraphernalia, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.

At 10:20 p.m., they arrested two Tenafly residents after stopping them on River Driver and finding them carrying 50 bags of heroin and three of crack cocaine, Foligno said.

Both were released pending court hearings.
