Dump Truck Plows Into Jersey Shore Home, Downs Power Lines A dump truck toppled a utility pole and smashed into a house in Ocean County, authorities said. A 55-year-old truck driver crashed into the home at the intersection of McLean Avenue and Route 35 North at 3:05 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, Point Pleasant Beach police said.  The operator of the truck, Ronald Bennett, of Point Pleasant, was treated at the scene by the Point Pleasant First Aid & Rescue Squad and taken to the hospital, police said. Video Shows Police Rescuing Dog From Hot Car On Jersey Shore A dog locked in a hot car for nearly 45 minutes was rescued by police officers this week in Ocean County (scroll for video). The small, white dog appeared to be okay after the tense rescue on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at Sherman Ave and Ocean Terrace in Seaside Heights, as reported by Jersey Shore Fire Response.  Temperatures hit a high of 90 degrees that day. It was not clear if any charges had been filed.  Click here for the complete video from JSFR.

Fire Damages Jersey Shore Apartment Complex (Video) A Point Pleasant apartment building was damaged in a fire Sunday afternoon. Smoke and flames were coming from a second floor apartment window when crews arrived at the Beacon Gardens Apartments off of Route 35 around 1:40 p.m. Crews from Point Pleasant and Wall worked to knock down the blaze, which was under control in approximately 20 minutes. While no injuries were reported, one dog died in the blaze, according to Jersey Shore Fire Response.
