Bridgeport's The WorkPlace Gets $20K Grant From Newman's Own BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The WorkPlace in Bridgeport has been awarded a $20,000 grant from Newman’s Own Foundation, the independent foundation created by the late actor and philanthropist Paul Newman. Newman’s Own Foundation made the award to The WorkPlace in celebration of the foundation's 10th anniversary. Norwalk Teachers, Board Of Education Agree To Contract NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk Board of Education and Norwalk Federation of Teachers have finalized a comprehensive group contract for 2016-19. The net cost of the agreement is an increase of 2.66 percent per year, which is below the statewide average of 3.5 percent.
