'Chasing Chasing Amy': Famous NJ Movie's Legacy Explored In New Doc
Though "Chasing Amy" is a 90s Garden State classic, a new documentary is exploring its somewhat problematic legacy.
"Chasing Chasing Amy" is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in June, spotlighting "Chasing Amy", Kevin Smith's film about a man who falls in love with a lesbian and develops a relationship with her. Smith, a proud New Jersey native, filmed the movie throughout his home state, including in Brick, Asbury Park, Keansburg, Leonardo, Middletown, Red Bank and Rumson.

A 19-year-old bartender at celebrity chef Victor Rallo’s Jersey Shore restaurant says she was groped by a drunken friend of her manager — and her bosses did nothing to help, according to a newly-filed lawsuit.
The bartender, identified only as R.N., was working at Surf BBQ in Rumson on Oct. 28, 2022 when a "much older patron" named Daniel Boswell, a regular customer, groped both of her breasts, according to the suit filed in March 2023, in Monmouth County Superior Court.

Water Search Continues For Missing Jersey Shore Kayaker
Authorities continued a search Friday for a Burlington County kayaker who apparently couldn’t get back to land before a storm hit the Jersey Shore.
Nadem Aksoy, 50, of Bordentown and a friend were fishing in their kayaks on the Navesink River in Monmouth County when the storm blew in around midnight, his brother, Mujdad, told News 12.
He "looked at his phone, the storm was coming, and then he called his friend [who] was on [a] kayak too,” his brother said.
The friend saw Aksoy’s kayak flip over and Aksoy trying to hold onto it, Mujdad said.
