SUV Crash Knocks Out Power, Shuts Down Road In Wall Township: Police
An SUV crashed into a utility pole in Monmouth County, shutting down a road and knocking out power, authorities said. In a Facebook post, Wall Township police said a vehicle hit the pole along Hospital Road at around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, Apr. 25. No injuries were reported in the crash. A photo from Wall police showed an SUV lying on its left side in the middle of the road. Two utility poles were leaning and there was also damage to a nearby fence. Tommy's Tavern + Tap has an opening date for its newest location, and announced one more. The fast-growing restaurant chain is opening in Cherry Hill later this month and will soon bring another location to Sea Girt, the business said. A Monmouth County storefront that was once the home of roasted chicken meals will soon serve up specialty salads. Just Salad is preparing to open in the former Boston Market location in a shopping plaza at 1021 Broad Street in Shrewsbury. A spokesperson said the restaurant is "tentatively tracking" toward opening in the third quarter of the year. Thousands of New Jersey residents remained without power on Monday, April 3, more than a day after the tornados that barreled through the region. Power Outage Hits 27K Customers In Monmouth County
About 27,000 electric customers were without power Monday morning in southern Monmouth County. The exact cause of the widespread outage was not immediately known. More than half of the homes and businesses had their power restored by noon, according to an outage tracker map provided by Jersey Central Power & Light. A Morris County man who allegedly burglarized a beachfront home and stole the tenants’ vehicle and personal belongings while they slept upstairs has been charged, authorities said. NJ Woman Struck, Killed By DUI Arizona Football Player: Reports
New Jersey native Norah Bruther was struck and killed by an Arizona State University football player over the weekend, authorities said. Bruther, 23, of Sea Girt, was crossing Camelback Road in Scottsdale, AZ when she was struck by 22-year-old Sun Devil Stanley Kambert around 1 a.m. Saturday, Fox10 Phoenix reports. Bruther, a senior associate at Ernst and Young, was allegedly visiting Scottsdale at the time of the incident.
