A woman was killed in an early morning crash in Monmouth County, authorities said. Manalapan police responded to the crash near the intersection of Route 9 and Ryan Road just before 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, Apr. 25, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release. When officers arrived, they found two vehicles involved in the crash. A woman driving a 2017 Nissan Sentra was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Manalapan Family Of Eight Displaced After House Fire
A family of eight people was displaced after a home caught fire in Monmouth County, authorities said. Manalapan police responded to the fire at a home on Paddington Court at around 7:38 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 19, a department spokesperson said. Winter Storm Knocks Power To Thousands Of Jersey Shore Residents
A pre-Valentine's Day winter storm knocked out power for thousands of Jersey Shore customers. According to the outage map for Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), 4,019 customers in Monmouth County lost electricity as of 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The vast majority of those were in Ocean Township with 3,371 customers without power, which is nearly 25 percent of the township. At least 100 customers were without service in Middletown, Tinton Falls, Colts Neck, and Manalapan. JCP&L also said 24 customers lost power in Ocean County. Sixteen of those were in Toms River. …

Tyler Rusinko of Point Pleasant died on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 30 years old, according to his obituary on the O'Brien Funeral Home website. Rusinko was born on Sunday, Mar. 21, 1993, in Manalapan and moved to Point Pleasant with his parents Paul and Dawn in 1998, his obit reads.
