Details Released In Sayreville Parkway Crash That Killed College Student Heading Home
Daily Voice has obtained details about the crash that killed an 18-year-old Monmouth University student last week. Madison Alfano of Staten Island, NY, lost control of her car and hit the driver's side of another vehicle on the northbound side of the Garden State Parkway in Sayreville around 7:50 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. Alfano's car went into another lane and she was hit by an oncoming pickup near mile marker 125.6, just south of the exit for Route 9 and New Jersey Route 35, McNair said. Six Hospitalized In Route 9 Crash In Toms River
Six people were hospitalized in a crash on Route 9, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, near the intersection of Hecht Drive, Toms River police said. An initial investigation revealed that Elvis Guadulupe Dominguez Avila was traveling south on Route 9 when he lost control of the vehicle. Police in Toms River are investigating a serious fire that destroyed a home at the Roberts Mobile Home Park on the 2200 block of Route 9, authorities said. On Thursday, Feb. 16, at approximately 3 p.m., police and fire crews were dispatched to the active fire. Driver Killed In Route 9 Central Jersey Crash: Report
One person was killed and another seriously hurt when a vehicle crossed the Route 9 median and struck a pickup truck, according to ABC 7 News. A southbound driver lost control of the car and veered into the northbound lanes at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 near Old Bridge High School and Middle School, the outlet says. Colts Neck Football Lineman, Parents Die In Route 9 Crash
Three family members have died as a result of a weekend crash on Route 9, authorities said. Masoud B. Salib, 61, and his wife, Hanaa I. Salib, 52, died on Sunday, July 3, while their son, Mark M. Salib — a former Colts Neck football lineman — died on Tuesday, July 5, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said. The Salibs are survived by another son, Danny. First Responders Called In Separate Route 9 Woodbridge Crashes
Police, firefighters and EMS crews responded to two separate Route 9 crashes, authorities said. The first crash reportedly involved a pedestrian about 6:30 a.m. Saturday at Routes 1 and 9 southbound south of Randolph Avenue, according to initial reports. That victim was taken to Robert Wood University Hospital in New Brunswick. A second crash was reported on Route 9 near Green Street about 9:30 a.m., reports said. Piscataway Driver Killed In Garden State Parkway Woodbridge Crash
A Piscataway man died after his car struck a disabled tractor-trailer while exiting the Garden State Parkway, police said. Emmanuel Emeana, 46, crashed into the back of the disabled truck parked on the shoulder off exit 129 in Woodbridge around 7 p.m. Saturday, New Jersey State Police said. Emeana was merging onto Route 9 when his southbound Lexus ES hit the disabled truck, police said. Emeana was pronounced dead at the scene and the truck driver was not injured, according to state police.
