Newark Liberty Airport's brand-new $2.7 billion Terminal A has been officially unveiled. The one million-square-foot terminal replaces the longstanding terminal that opened in 1973. The family of a Newark Liberty Airport worker who was struck by an airplane propeller and killed has filed a lawsuit saying an absentee spotter and failed safety provisions are to blame for her death. Jacqueline Mkalama, 53, of Orange, was walking on the tarmac at Gate 25 in Terminal A when she was struck in the head by the spinning propeller of a Bombardier DHC-8202, on Sept. 2, 2017, according to the suit filed last month. Hallucinating Passenger Leads To Bomb Scare On Newark Bound Flight, Pilot Says
A passenger having a medical emergency on a Newark Liberty Airport-bound flight claimed there was a bomb on board, bringing emergency vehicles to the tarmac after the plane landed, reports say. The passenger was on flight 2304 from Los Angeles, which landed safely just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday, ABC7 reports. The pilot in an announcement to passengers said the person was hallucinating when the remark was made. The passenger was taken to a local hospital and all bags were removed from the plane and inspected on the tarmac.
