Piscataway Biz Barred From Government Contracts Over Labor Violations: State DOL Nineteen businesses who owe a total of $1.1 million have been barred from public contracting until they pay back their dues, the New Jersey Department of Labor said. R.A. Florio Building Contractors Inc., of Toms River, for example, has been ordered to pay $39,555.57 to the state, according to the department of labor and workforce development. The final judgment was given on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020.  The contractor is one of 101 total businesses on New Jersey's Workplace Accountability in Labor List, also known as the WALL. The NJDOL issued 27 stop-work orders to Boston Market locations throughout the state on Monday, Aug. 14 saying the rotisserie chicken franchise owes more than $600,000 in back wages to 314 employees. The investigation began after the NJDOL received a complaint from an employee at a restaurant in Hamilton last November. 73 Beach Patrol Violations Found On Jersey Shore By NJ Labor Department Prompted by two lifeguard deaths, the New Jersey Department of Labor recently inspected beach patrols across the Jersey Shore. The department found 73 violations of safety and recordkeeping rules including 44 in Ocean County. The lifeguard deaths were in August 2021. Norman Inferrera III, 16, died after his patrol surfboat capsized in Cape May at Reading Avenue Beach, and Keith Pinto, 19, died after he was struck by lightning at White Sands Beach in Berkeley Township.
