Atlantic City leaders responded to criticism and called for community support after four homicides in the city during the first week of 2024. A reputed leader of the Bloods street gang was shot and killed in Trenton, authorities said. The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton police are investigating the fatal shooting on Friday, May 26, police said. A 37-year-old dad was killed in a Camden shooting over the weekend, authorities said. Charles Copling, III was found with gunshot wounds just before midnight on the 1200 block of Decatur Street Friday, June 17, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay said. Trenton is on track to break last year's record number of fatal shootings in the city as well as homicides in general, authorities said. The capital city recently stepped up street patrols to curb escalating violence. UPDATED: A 25-year-old man from Mercer County died early Tuesday from gunshot wounds, authorities said. A second person was shot in the face at a Sunoco gas station and remains hospitalized in critical condition after the multiple shooting in Trenton, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. State Capital Reports 9 People Shot
There were at least nine people shot over the weekend in Trenton, authorities said. None of the shootings was fatal, according to a spokeswoman for the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. On Sunday night, four people were wounded by gunfire at the intersection of Stuyvesant and Hoffman avenues. Three people were injured in shootings at the same spot on Friday night, police said. New Brunswick Mass Shooting Victims Identified
Two men killed during Sunday's mass shooting in New Brunswick have been identified, authorities said. Lionel Macauley, 28, of Somerset, and Anthony Robinson 23, of New Brunswick, died of injuries they sustained in the early morning shooting, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony A.
