Winning $1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold In NJ
Someone in New Jersey won big bucks in the Saturday, April 27 Powerball drawing.
According to the Powerball website, a player in the Garden State won the $1 million prize, along with someone in Georgia, in the Saturday, April 27 Powerball drawing.
The winners matched all five numbers drawn. The winning numbers were 9, 30, 53, 55, and 62. The red Power Ball drawn was 23.
Lottery officials are expected to announce where the tickets were sold this week.
The jackpot rolls to $164 million in the next drawing, held on Monday, April 29.

Spotswood HS Star Basketball Player, 16, Dies In Georgia ATV Crash
A 16-year-old high school student from Central Jersey died of injuries on Thanksgiving from an ATV crash in Georgia, according to media reports.
Matthew J. Carlson, a sophomore and varsity baseball player at Spotswood High School, was driving a 2020 Can-Am Maverick X3 on private property when the crash occurred Wednesday, Nov. 23, as reported by the Union-Recorder. He died at 4 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24.
Carlson also played for the RedHawks, a travel baseball program run by the Zoned Sports Academy. On Monday, Nov. 28, the academy posted a video tribute to Carlson.

A Middlesex County man was found guilty of murdering his father and another man in 2019 before setting their home on fire, authorities said.
Jaree Kitchen, 24, was convicted on June 1 of the murder of his father, Clifford Kitchen Jr., 53 and Gregory Fisher, 53, both from Jamesburg, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

Guns Smuggled From Georgia By Central Jersey Felon: AG
A man from Central Jersey has been arrested for illegally smuggling guns into New Jersey from Georgia, authorities said.
Barrett R. Griffin, III, 33, of North Brunswick, was indicted on multiple weapons charges, according to Acting Attorney General Matthew J. Plotkin. The guns were allegedly intended to be sold unlawfully, he said.
The indictment, handed up by a State Grand Jury on Friday, May 6, alleges that between Feb. 5, and Feb. 7, Griffin illegally transported handguns from Georgia to New Jersey, for unlawful sale.
