Ariel Rivas Rosado died in what local officials are calling a "tragic accident" on Friday, Feb. 10. His mother is BOE member Dayanara Rosado Quezada, and his father is 5th Ward Councilman Carlos Rivas.

East Brunswick Motorcyclist, 22, Killed In Crash
A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a van last week, after passing drivers moved his body to the side of Route 7, authorities said.
Ahmed Mohamed, of East Brunswick, was believed to have been struck by a GMC van while riding in Route 7 west where the Newark/Jersey City Turnpike and the Belleville Turnpike split — commonly known as "The Split" — around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 3, Kearny police said.

Beloved NJ Pet Services Company Owner Struck, Killed By SUV, Arrest Made
Detectives arrested a driver who they said struck and killed a beloved pet services company owner outside a Clifton supermarket.
Chloe Villar-Severino, 31, was struck by an SUV in the parking lot of the Aldi on Lakeview Avenue on Tuesday, authorities said.
Villar-Severino, who owned and operated Ruff Lyfe, died the next day at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, they said.

NJ Man, 21, Dies After Falling From Overpass Onto Garden State Parkway, Struck By SUV
A 21-year-old Union County man died when he fell from an overpass onto the Garden State Parkway and was struck by a car Thursday, authorities said.
Joshua Goldberg, of Scotch Plains, was walking on the Oak Tree Road overpass in Woodbridge when he fell over, landing on the roadway near milepost 132.1 around 5:25 p.m., New Jersey State Police told NJ.com.
Goldberg landed on a southbound SUV, the 45-year-old driver of which was able to pull over and remain at the scene, NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan said.

ATV Operator, 31, Killed In Central Jersey Crash
A 31-year-old man was killed when he fell off an all-terrain vehicle in North Brunswick over the weekend, authorities said.
Police officers responding to a 9-1-1 call found Charlie Madera lying on Corporate Road with severe injuries around 10 p.m. Saturday, North Brunswick police said.
Madera, of North Brunswick, was pronounced dead at the scene despite attempts by emergency workers to save his life, police said.
Madera's ATV landed in nearby brush, they said.
North Brunswick police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, they said.
