Updated: First Responders Called To Apartment Complex Shooting In Middlesex County

New Brunswick police responded to shots fired on Monday morning, according to initial reports, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Director Anthony A. Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department 

Police found a shooting victim at Toy Manor Apartments on Phelps Avenue, they said. Shootings have occurred several times this year at Toy Manor.

"At present, the shooting does not appear to be a random act," Ciccone and Caputo said. 

The victim was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, reports said. Authorities did not release details about his condition. 

The investigation is active and continuing.
