The Ewing school district is mourning the unexpected loss of an elementary student. A fourth-grade student at Lore Elementary School died suddenly after a “courageous battle,” Assistant Superintendent Dr. Danita Ishibashi said in a release on the school’s website. As an extra safety precaution, clear backpacks are being distributed free in a Central Jersey school district. A beloved custodian of a South Brunswick middle school was struck and killed by a car while working, district officials said.
