A 66-year-old New Jersey man died in a work-related accident involving a ladder and an HVAC unit at Kings Village in Norwegian Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania State Police announced. Hearst Magazines has just fired around 200 employees, most of whom were assigned to the company's midtown Manhattan headquarters, according to multiple reports. Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Men's Health, Popular Mechanics, Town & Country, and Harper's Bazaar are among the titles the division of Hearts Communications publishes. Affected employees were notified in a private meeting days before Thanksgiving, according to New York Magazine. NJ Hockey Player, 19, Dies In Fiery Route 80 Crash
A 19-year-old hockey player from Bergen County was killed after his car caught fire on Route 80 in Warren County on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 1, authorities said. At 8:21 p.m., a Hyundai SUV driven by Carmine Argenziano was traveling westbound on Route 80 in Hope Township when it veered off the right side of the roadway, hit multiple trees and then caught fire, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. A truck has overturned on Route 278 in Union County on the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 2, authorities said. The tractor trailer overturned on Route 278 westbound near Exit 1 in Linden, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The crash occurred around 1 p.m., authorities said. A 29-year-old man from western Massachusetts and law clerk for the State of New Jersey has been identified as the person police pulled from the Connecticut River earlier this week.
