Jersey Shore Pedestrian Struck, Killed Walking On Garden State Parkway, State Police Say
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Toyota Friday afternoon while walking on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County, authorities said. The fatal crash occurred at 2:12 p.m. in a northbound lane of the parkway in Toms River, according to a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police. The parkway experienced heavy traffic delays in both directions as state troopers investigated the crash scene, reports said. Dump Truck Driver Hospitalized After Crashing Through Route 287 Barrier Into Backyard
A dump truck driver was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries after crashing through a sound barrier wall on Route 287 and into the backyard of a Bridgewater home Thursday afternoon, New Jersey State Police said. The right lane of the northbound side of the highway was closed after the 1:25 p.m. crash near milepost 17.6, Sgt. Lawrence Peele said. The driver lost control before he went through the wall and into the backyard of a Woodlawn Avenue home, Peele said. No other injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation. Another Route 80 Delay: Overturned Tractor Trailer Shuts Eastbound Highway In Roxbury
Route 80 was backed up Friday morning after a tractor trailer overturned spilling fuel across the highway. All lanes were closed near Exit 34 - NJ 15 as of 10:30 a.m., according to 511nj.org. A Rockland County-bound train experiencing mechanical problems delayed 25 passengers at the Park Ridge station Tuesday, NJ Transit officials said. BMW, Tractor-Trailer Crash Shuts Rt. 22 East In Hillside, One Dead
Traffic was being detoured away from Rt. 22 eastbound in Hillside Monday morning after a BMW sedan crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer, ABC7 reports. The area between Bloy and North Broad streets was shut down for the crash investigation, which has been underway since early this morning.
