Public Meeting In Hartsdale About Edgemont's Push To Become A Village
GREENBURGH, N.Y. – The third time was the charm for the folks hoping to turn a part of Greenburgh into a bona fide village.
Jeff Sherwin and John Lewis, both members of the Edgemont Incorporation Committee (EIC), had twice tried to file a 1,400-signature petition with the town attorney’s office, but were turned away because the town took the stand that, legally, the paperwork had to be put directly into the hands of Supervisor Paul Feiner.
Feiner had been out of town last week.

Stanley E. Brose, 97, of Rhinebeck
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. – Stanley E. Brose of Montgomery, a longtime Rhinebeck resident, died Thursday, Feb. 23. He was 97.
Brose retired as president of Brose Off-Set Lithographic Corp. in Manhattan in 1983.
He also was a member and a Master Mason at Pioneer Lodge 70 of Free and Accepted Masons in Hackensack, N.J.; a member of the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan, and the Oritani Field Club in Hackensack.
He was born in New York City on Sept. 21, 1919 to the late Adolph J. and May (Dahlke) Brose.

Horticultural 'Crown Jewel' Set To Bloom In Somers' Lasdon Park
SOMERS, N.Y. – In just a few months, nature lovers will be able to visit a tropical rainforest, without having to travel to South America, Africa or Asia, said Ted Kozlowski, manager of the Lasdon Park and Arboretum in Somers.
Ten years – and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears – in the making, the park’s new Glass House Conservatory is set to open on Saturday, June 17.
Its first exhibit, titled “The Rainforest: Tropical Treasures,” will feature, not only exotic plants and flowers, but water features and the sounds of such jungle denizens as macaws, jaguars, and poison dart frogs.
