At 9:48 a.m., police responded to a report of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on the 1100 block of Grove Street, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Death Of 19-Year-Old Irvington Woman Probed As Suspicious, Official's Say Authorities have launched a suspicious death investigation following the passing of a 19-year-old woman in Irvington. Robin Rivers was found with gunshot wounds at a home on Grove Street Sunday July 17, a spokesperson with the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. On Friday, May 13, shortly after midnight, a Tinton Falls police officer located a BMW 3-Series sedan that was reported stolen from Lawrenceville Police.  The BMW fled from the Tinton Falls officer and the pursuit was terminated on the Garden State Parkway due to excessive speed, police said. Authorities Investigating Shooting That Killed Irvington Man, 24 Authorities in Irvington are investigating a shooting that killed a 24-year-old township man. Daquan Smith was shot on the 400 block of Grove Street just before 2 p.m. Thursday, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests had been made as of Friday afternoon.
