Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency in the late afternoon, as rain continued falling, leaving drivers trapped in flood waters across the state. Dunderhook Road at Paramus Road in Paramus remained closed due to flooding, leading the borough's Office of Emergency Management to urge an evacuation of the area late Friday afternoon. A crash with injuries was delaying traffic on both sides of Route 70 in Camden County, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 east of Springdale Road (Route 673) in Cherry Hill, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. A pickup truck dumped its load of lumber closing part of Interstate 295 in Burlington County, authorities said. The crash occurred at 11:31 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 on I-295 southbound at milepost 47 in Burlington Township, according to New Jersey State Police. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford pickup truck carrying 2X4 lumber was involved in a collision with another vehicle causing it to overturn and spill the lumber into the lanes of travel, State Police said. A wrong-way crash closed a portion of the NJ Turnpike up for hours on Labor Day. The accident happened just before 1:40 a.m. on the northbound side of the Turnpike in Carneys Point, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said.
