A 40-year-old man from Vineland has been charged with assault by auto while being under the influence of alcohol in connection with a serious pedestrian crash last February, authorities said. A 27-year-old man was hospitalized after being struck by a car on White Horse Pike in Winslow Township Saturday night, April 20, police said. Pedestrian Struck, Killed Along Route 130 In Camden County
A pedestrian was struck and killed along Route 130 in Pennsauken, authorities said. It marked the fourth fatal crash along the Camden County highway since Feb. 1, three of them involving pedestrians. The latest pedestrian fatality occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, according to daily New Jersey State Police fatal crash data. It also marked the 12th fatal crash in Camden County this year including six pedestrians. Pennsauken police were not immediately available for comment.

Camden County, State Launch Initiative To Reduce Fatal Crashes On White Horse Pike
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey Attorney General are set to launch a traffic safety initiative to cut down on crashes and improve pedestrian safety along the White Horse Pike. Last year, there were seven fatal crashes on the state highway. These crashes resulted in eight deaths with five being pedestrians and one being a bicyclist, the county said.
