The man who got drunk in his truck and savagely beat a 78-year-old man nearly to death in Frederick County will be spending years behind bars, according to the state’s attorney’s office. Frederick resident Edy Daniel Marroquin-Soma, 23, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and has been sentenced to life in prison with all but 25 years to serve in the Division of Corrections followed by 5 years of supervised probation upon release, officials announced on Tuesday, March 28. The man who gunned down his ex-girlfriend’s coworker at a Maryland fast food restaurant will spend decades in prison after being sentenced on murder and weapon charges, the Frederick County State’s Attorney announced. Darin Tyler Robey, 21, of Frederick, has been sentenced to 45 years for his role in the murder of 21-year-old Jason Penamon on Dec. 26, 2021, at Burger King on Routzahn Way.
