A 45-year-old Stafford man has been convicted for his role in an animal fighting ring in the DMV for five years, federal officials said. Mark Joseph Rodriguez, aka “Slow Poke,” and co-conspirators from the region used a messaging app that they called "The DMV Board" or "The Board" to discuss training fighting dogs, exchange videos about dogfighting, and arrange and coordinate dog fights, out of view of law enforcement, Jessica D. A District man is facing new charges after he allegedly committed new crimes while awaiting trial or shooting a 14-year-old. A 41-year-old registered sex offender from Southeast DC who admitted to uploading graphic videos of himself sexually abusing a young girl has copped to the crime, federal authorities announced. Michael Humphrey, who has been a registered sex offender in DC since 2022, pleaded guilty on Monday to the sexual exploitation of a child after his Google account was found littered with imagery of his abuse of a 5-year-old girl. Dozens of fugitives were apprehended following a three-day operation around Washington, DC that led to the recovery of three weapons, authorities announced on Thursday.
