For the second time in three months, a member of the Baltimore City Department of Public Works has died on the job, authorities announced. Timothy Cartwell, a solid waste worker assigned to the Reedbird Sanitation Yard died on Friday morning after sustaining critical injuries while collecting trash in an alleyway in the 1800 block of Baker Street. A Baltimore City Department of Public Works crew member died on the job late on Friday afternoon, officials say. On Aug. 2, toward the end of his shift, Robert Silver II suffered a "medical situation" while riding in their truck that required immediate intervention in the Barclay neighborhood in Northeast Baltimore. He was a "dedicated crew member" of the Baltimore City Department of Public Works' Bureau of Solid Waste, officials said. Water Distribution Sites Announced After E. Coli Found In Baltimore Water
Water distribution sites have been announced following the discovery of E. coli in the drinking water of a Baltimore neighborhood — including some police and fire facilities, the DPW said.
